27-year- old Vincent Mgiba was famously known as Vince Da Poet, a poet from Bushbuckridge Madjembeni village. Mgiba started doing poetry and comedy at the age of 13 at primary school and churches and high school. He completed his grade 12 in 2011 at Shobiyana high school in Mpumalanga Bushbuckridge Acornhoek.
After completing his matric he started doing motivational talks and comedy. Since then he has been doing Charity work in different schools, churches, colleges, weddings, birthdays, and parties in Gauteng, Mpumalanga, and Limpopo. From 2012 until 2018 he managed to motivate over 200 learners across South Africa, he is now the first black and youngest South African Bushbuckridge born poet who broke the record of inspiring over 200 schools. In June 2012 he was honored for being the best poet and the best performer by the Love Life Youth Centre in Acornhoek.
In September 2016 he was honored with a certificate of Achievement for participating in Poetry by the Department of Culture Sports and Recreation. In September 2017 he was honored with another certificate by the Bushbuckridge Community Heroes Awards for being in the Category of Young Arising Hero.
In December 2017 he was honored with a certificate of being the best motivational Speaker of the year 2017 by Golden Stars Awards.
In 2016 January he went to Johannesburg to pursue his career. In August 2016 he was recognized by YoTV and Bona Retsang Youths Programmes where he did his first motivational Campaign for HIV and Aids on TV and he was watched by Millions of South Africans that is where a lot of people started to recognize him.
He is currently based in Johannesburg Soweto busy doing TV jobs. He is also studying part-time study as an actor in Johannesburg Kempton Park under PBA Agency ‘Professional Background Artists’.
Mgiba is currently busy with acting, where he recently appeared on Isidingo and Skeem Saam as an extra. His appearances on Skeem Saam and Isidingo started last year September 2017.
