BLM warns residents to stay safe ahead of tropical cyclone “Eloise”

The Bushbuckridge Local Municipality’s disaster management unit has issued a warning to the residents of Bushbuckridge and the surrounding areas to be on the lookout as tropical cyclone Eloise is expected to hit the area on Saturday evening.

Residents are advised to stay indoors and ensure that children are indoors by Saturday afternoon as heavy rainfall, strong winds and the possibility of trees being uprooted is expected. The cyclone will affect Bushbuckridge, Mbombela, Skhukhuza and Komatidraai, and some parts of Limpopo including Musina, Thohoyandou, Giyani, Phalaborwa, Hoedspruit, Tzaneen and Greater Letaba.

The Municipality has also called upon members on the public to contact the Disaster Management Unit manager, Mr Mokoena on 071 675 9164 or the Fire and Rescue Unit’s Mr Silinda on 079 887 9814/060 506 4020.  Members of the public are urged to continue observing Covid-19 regulation.
