Dikeledi Xulu-Mokoena has recently released her first, self-published book titled The Journey – The Book of Hope. It has received good reviews and it continues to do well. Known as DeeThe Motivator, Xulu-Mokoena grew up in Chweni Trust and is currently based in Thulamahashe. Aside from being a motivational speaker and writer who is widely recognised across the province, Xulu-Mokoena works as an animal health technician for the Department of Agriculture. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in agriculture from the University of North West and is presently studying health and safety (SAMTRAC).
She told Bushbuckridge News that the book is very significant to her because it is her first book and it also has an influence on people’s lives. She added that Self-forgiveness and I am not my background are the two chapters on which she continues to receive comments. She said she believes that the two chapters deal with delicate subjects that most people avoid discussing.
“Other chapters include living your dreams, a call for rearrangement, and more. This book’s content is my motto. I’ve been writing since I was in secondary school, writing has always been one of my interests. I was motivated to write this book by the beauty of living life to the fullest. We cannot escape problems in life, but we have been given the capacity to overcome them. There is a solution to every difficulty that a person will confront in this life. Everyone was born to be great, and I hope that this book will help you awaken that greatness in you,” she said.
Xulu-Mokoena added that she came across challenges when publishing the book because she is a self-publisher, she said one of the problems was finding a reasonably-priced printing firm. She appealed to aspiring authors to keep writing and stop worrying about the resources they don’t have at the moment and to have someone to guide them through their path as authors.
Xulu-Mokoena said she would like to be one of the best-selling authors. She said those who would like to book her for motivational talks or to purchase the book, can contact her through Facebook: DeeTheMotivator or call her on 076 290 0834.
