Khensani Bango, best known as MissKay Chardnah has recently released another single, A Byi Olovi. Describing this new release, the former Miss Hazyview said the song was produced by Junior Mkhari and it is motivated and driven by how women are treated, what they go through and the circumstances they are always facing in and outside marriage, MissKay said most women are victims of Gender Based Violence and they face abuse from their loved ones.
The young lady from Acornhoek, who released #FeelOurpain in 2019 said she has always liked music because music is a strong remedy that heals. She said it ensures mental well-being.
“Music is in me, I love it. I was born to deliver the message and I do that through music, I am my own inspiration,” said MissKay.
She described herself as an epitome of a self-driven woman. She said she is a model, a musician, a writer and the founder of MissKay Charity Fashion Show. She also said that she is all about delivering the message, entertaining and being the most useful tool by letting her talents reach everyone out there.
She added that she would like to encourage young aspiring artist to fearlessly go for what they want and to believe in themselves. MissKay said doubt is the fruit of fear and that fear reflects lack of faith.
“As a woman in the music industry, it’s not easy, there are lot of challenges we come across in every circle and corner of the entertainment industry. However, I use these challenges as motivation and as a wake-up call to make me stronger. These challenges have made me realise what I want, and they have made me who I am today,” said MissKay.
She also said that the support young and aspiring artists get in rural areas and townships is not enough. She said instead of getting support, they get negative comments and insults. She said this makes them lose faith and they end up not being inspired by the work they are doing. MissKay urged members of the public to support local artists so they can succeed and bring change and improvement to their hometowns. She said supporting these local upcoming artists will enable them to boldly represent their hometown.
