Sekhukhune United relocate to Polokwane
Sekhukhune United have announced that they will be relocating to the New Peter Mokaba Stadium
Polokwane, this comes after the club reached a deal with the owners of the stadium in Polokwane
Municipality. Babina Noko have been playing their home games at the Makhulong Stadium in
Tembisa, during their days in the Glad Africa Championship and the Emirates Airline Park in
Johannesburg in the last session. Following Baroka’s relegation to the second tier, Sekhukhune
United will return to their home province in Limpopo.
The reason behind the move comes due to lack of training facilities in the Sekhukhune area, where
the club originally comes from. The club will still be based in Kempton Park in Gauteng, but all the
ground games will be played at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane. This relocation means
that the Limpopo Province will be presented by two sides in the DStv Premiership alongside Marumo
Gallants, whom they will share the 45000-seater World Cup venue together.
