SAMA 26 public votes race heats up

The recording industry of South Africa (RISA) announced on Monday that the
annual South African Music Awards (SAMA) will stage its 26th edition over five nights, from 3 to 7 August
at 21:30.
In accordance with the nationwide covid19 lockdown and social distancing norms, the party has moved
from Sun city Superbowl to be streamed on the My Muze by Vodacom platform and broadcast on
Mzansi magic DSTV channel 161. Under the theme #forThaKultha, five adrenaline filled yet bite-size 30
minutes episode.
Nhlanhla Sibisi the CEO of RISA congratulated the nominees in both the ROTY and MVOTY categories. In
these categories the SAMA gives the viewer and fan of local music a voice to crown the winner.
It also reported that Rehana Hassim, the executive head of content and lifestyle at Vodacom
congratulated all the nominees for the prestigious awards.
“It an exciting time for my Muze to be part of
the first-ever digital version of the SAMA this year as we introduced features such as digital voting and
live streaming on the Vodacom network through my Muze platform”.
During this covid19 pandemic, South Africans are encouraged to practice social distancing and be
excited that music fans are enabled to vote for their favorite song and videos of the year through the
platform and without leaving their homes presenting the awards live through Mymuze.com, which
encourages people to heed the call to stay at home and stay safe.
