The 28 year old disabled woman says she has lost hope of ever owning a house!
Nonhlanhla Mbuyane has over the years appealed to the public for help in building a home of her own.
“My story has been in many newspaper articles, radio and TV interviews over the past few years, but then none of that has ever changed my situation, I’m hopeless right now,” she said.
“I’ve also applied for an RDP house many years back without luck, and as you can see for yourself, I can’t work for my own money, so this has badly affected my health. I’ve been moving from house to house and so far I’ve lived in three different RDP houses in Magraskop near Shatale, owned by good Samaritans on a temporary basis until I find my own place, but then I can’t live like this forever.”
The young woman says she has no immediate family that she could move in with. She also mentioned that a few years back she met her distant relatives who tried to raise money for building her a house, but then only the foundation was laid.
She further appealed to business people, government departments and the public at large to help bring change into her life.
The local municipality has been reluctant in giving feedback regarding her reported application for a house.
